Just quietly I have always been a bit of a fan of Channel Ten’s TV series Offspring, and was thrilled when they asked if they could use my home as the fictional home of Nina Proudman, played by Asher Keddie. I have received countless emails enquiring about Falls the Shadow, Ghost Garden and Renaissance, paintings of mine which featured regularly on set. Did anyone notice we changed paintings in Season 5? The later work is Falls the Shadow, and is my favourite. In Season 6 Nina had to relocate due to local building work, and we replaced the work with Echo, which stayed around for Season 7.
Due to the incredible amount of interest in these paintings, we have made a series of limited-edition archival fine art pigment prints based on these three works. The prints are on 100% cotton rag paper (giving them an almost ‘egg-shell’ finish which captures even the most subtle colours) and are printed by professional fine art printers in Melbourne. Prints are professionally packed and sent via courier with a tracking number.
* Please note that Falls the Shadow is the darkest of the three prints, and will have some reflection under glass. Any works on paper must not be hung in direct sunlight, and with this work in particular, flexibility in the hanging position or lighting is essential to minimise reflection. As with the original painting, not all of the image is visible at all times, it is dependent on lighting and placement, and is the intention of the artist. Please discuss this with your framer. There is a fabulous new glass available which has almost zero reflection.
